Good to have you here! I’m Jenny Baxter, and I want to you to know you are loved.

Yes, every time you turn around there is guilt, staring you in the face. And you feel like you are never enough. But it’s time for that to change. It’s time to love and value yourself. Not only that, it’s time to treasure your mother. And time to treasure your children – past, present and perhaps also, future.

As a mother you have remarkable moments to cherish, because when you think about it, every child has miraculous beginnings. And every person is unique. You will have special memories stored up in your heart and mind.

Of course, you are not the only one to do this. Read this honourable mention, made of one very special woman . . .

Mary treasured up all these things and
pondered them in her heart. (Luke 2:19)

Mary the mother of Jesus.

Millions around the world, look to Mary for their inspiration. But whether you revere Mary or not, her son Jesus had a very unusual start to his life, to say the least! And that was what she treasured in her heart. Those world-changing moments in time. (You can read about it HERE >>>)

With such a miraculous story to tell, Mary had some truly awe-inspiring events to treasure. But she isn’t the only one. Believe it or not, you have an amazing story too.

Treasuring your memories, hopes and dreams

You hold special memories, dreams and hopes for every child of yours. Sometimes those dreams are dashed to pieces through miscarriage, death or disaster. More often, you have secret hopes and desires, and you’re still quietly waiting for them to be fulfilled.

It’s good to ponder and reflect on those moments, those hopes and those imagined futures.

That’s why it’s about treasuring children.

Time with your own mother is finite and limited. I know this is because I lost my mother to breast cancer when I was 16. Thankfully, I have some great women around me who share my motherhood journey. But none of them filled the huge hole left by my own mother.

Treasuring Mothers is all about honouring your mother – even if she is no longer with you.

You, like all mothers, are clever, resourceful, intuitive and love your kids. No doubt, like me, you are the first to admit you don’t know it all. But, every day, you do your very best to help your offspring move through that miraculous life transition – from tiny baby, to youth, to adulthood, and beyond. And that’s your job . . .

It’s about treasuring your children, while you treasure yourself.

How it all began

You can read about my story, and why I treasure my mother HERE >>>

At the start of my motherhood journey, I was desperate. All I could do was pray and ask God to show me what to do each day. Amazingly, God answered.

I ended up with tactics, ideas, moments, memories, plans. And along the way, many friends, who share the ride. You will find some of their stories here too, as time goes by. These legends of motherhood, and their insights, are an inspiration to me, as I am sure they will be to you too. I hope they will fill some gaps in your experience.

So, let me encourage you . . .

It’s important to treasure each of your children, because they are precious.

To treasure your mother, for giving you life.

And to treasure yourself, so you can be the best mother possible.

All my love,
